Kentico CMS 4.1 Released

I think I can speak for most of us when I say that the August 17 release of Kentico CMS 4.1 was an unexpected surprise. The release date given several months ago was easily forgotten, and the hints of a pending release littered through Martin’s blog posts were easy to overlook if you were caught up with the frequent patch releases of 4.0.

The new functionality is awesome, and this is is a release that goes a long towards satisfying the wishlists of most Kentico developers.

You can take a look at the release notes on the Kentico website, but some of the major enhancements found in the new version are:

  • a new Lucene based search engine bringing to the table relevency, preview, and scope •    new media dialogs leading to more intuitive media usage
  • output caching, partial caching, and cache debugging •    multilingual improvements including culture specific workflows customisable module installation
  • versioning, worklow, and permissioning of attachments.
